Leaseweb Germany appoints Marcus Busch as new Managing Director

-Leaseweb Germany recruits new Managing Director with extensive experience in the IT, telecommunications and service industries.

-Expansion of strategic market segments with a focus on hybrid cloud services planned.

Frankfurt am Main, 2. April 2019 – Marcus Busch is the new Managing Director of Leaseweb Deutschland GmbH. Leaseweb Deutschland GmbH is part of Leaseweb, a leading global cloud and hosting brand. The new Managing Director has many years of experience in the IT, telecommunication and service industries.

Marcus Busch joins Leaseweb from Verizon Enterprise Solutions, where he served as Sales Director for Germany, Austria and Country Manager Switzerland. Prior to that, he was responsible for product & portfolio in the Management Board of Media Broadcast GmbH.

At Deutsche Telekom / T-Systems, he was responsible for the successful DSL product launch to business customers and subsequently built and grew DT´s Business internet segment as Director Product Management. The business graduate (University of Essen) started his career as a Product Manager at Thyssen Telecom.

Marcus Busch replaces Benjamin Schönfeld as Managing Director, who has been head of Leaseweb Germany for four years. Thanks to his successes, Mr. Schönfeld will take over the management of Leaseweb Asia Pacific in Singapore and become their new Managing Director.

Expansion of strategic markets

As the new head of Leaseweb Germany, Marcus Busch intends to expand the company's position in important strategic markets. These include, among others, Martech and Adtech, Fintech, Gaming and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). In terms of service offerings, he will be focusing on the further development of hybrid cloud services. In addition, Marcus Busch plans to expand sales in Austria and Switzerland where he intends to leverage his excellent network.

'User demands for availability, performance and above all scalability will continue to rise dramatically. At the same time, data protection has become increasingly important since the General Data Protection Regulation. With Hybrid Cloud, companies can meet both requirements particularly well,' explains Marcus Busch.

He adds, 'In addition, I want to firmly establish Leaseweb as the leading market player in midmarket and our targeted segements in the DACH region for the long term by making intensive use of my contact network there.'
